"WARMIKUNA" - JUNIN, PERU

Named for the Quechua word for “women,” Warmikuna is a coffee produced by a collective of 55 women in Peru’s Junín region.

The group grew out of an initiative that began in 2010, when local women farmers started working with the Volcafe Way program. Today, their farms stretch across the highlands between the Andes and the Amazon, where a network of model farms helps test regenerative methods and share practical knowledge throughout the community.

This fully washed coffee is slow dried and scores 85.25. In the cup, expect a lively balance of stone fruit and citrus, with notes of apricot and lime layered over brown sugar and date-like sweetness. A delicate chamomile character rounds out the finish.
